PARTY WITH A PURPOSE
East Andrews
56 East Andrews Drive, Atlanta
6:00PM-9:30PM
Cash bar, light hors d'oeuvres
Join AWRT Atlanta and have a good time for a great cause! We're hosting a mixer, and the price of admission is something right out of your own closet. We've joined forces with Dress for Success, an organization whose mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Bring one gently used item of business attire or professional-looking accessories and you're in the door (see below for specifics). Kristina Cates, the Director of Operations for Dress for Success Atlanta will be on hand to collect your donations (she also gladly accepts cash or credit card donations!) She will also bring some of their scarves for sale. Each year an artist designs a scarf to benefit Dress for Success, and she has scarves designed by Tommy Hilfiger and Sean Combs.
Here's another fun way you can help! Get out your jewelry box, and bring us any jewelry you are no longer wearing, as long as it's in good condition. We believe that "one woman's trash is another woman's treasure," so we're going to have a "jewelry flea market" and offer it for sale at a reasonable price. That money will also go to Dress for Success Atlanta, as well as any unsold jewelry.
Items for donation to DRESS FOR SUCCESS:
Business Suits
Slacks/Trousers
Skirts
Blazers
Blouses
Purses
Scarves
Belts
New panty hose
New Cosmetics & Toiletries
Shoes
Men…don't feel left out! Please bring a tie that you're no longer wearing…as long as it's in good condition (and doesn't look like it's from the 70's). We'll put them up for sale as well--and that money will also go to DFS Atlanta. (Unsold ties will be donated to M.E.N.S. Wear Inc., which provides similar services for Men.) |

3rd Annual Spring Garden Party
Many friends joined us for our 3rd annual silent auction event where we were privileged to experience
a sneak preview of the Garden's newest exhibit: Sculpture in Motion: Art Choreographed by Nature.
Inspired by movement in nature, the pieces featured in the
Garden’s Sculpture in Motion show combine engineering and creative
talents of artists from across the globe. Visitors were treated to works set in motion by air, sound, human
interaction or other life breathing forces, producing art that moves in more ways than one!
In this, our 3rd annual silent auction event, with the help of our members and friends, we were able to raise over $3,000 for the organization.
Special thanks to all of our corporate and event sponsors, without whom, this event, and many others, wouldn't be possible. |
